You gave this quite the high rating, Malcolm! I liked your discussion on the method acting bit and how that interplays with character and plot. I'll keep attuned to that when I check it out. Thanks for the review!

Your welcome, James. Thank you for reading and for your comment. Yes, I did. I prized this film over others specifically for its stellar attention to its acting. Since I am uniquely qualified to assess and address this I wanted to share this side of it the most. It greatly increased my enjoyment of the film and its lasting impact on me. I'm glad to hear my discussion of method acting resonated with you.

This film accomplishes a lot by presenting this lived in approach to acting as well as doing an outstanding job of balancing the story, while presenting all the necessities of a film: score, cinematography, locations, etc. In combination with elevating the performances to this level, including working with an outstanding child actor and teen actors, all of which is a very difficult endeavour--especially for an indie film. This is why it received such a high rating from me.

Also, in light of the recent Brother, I like how this film stays clear of an overtly artful look. It's verisimilitude works more effectively for me. Performances are unfiltered and raw. I look forward to hearing how it lands for you. Thanks as always for your continued engagement. It means so much!
